Kinderhut's Children's Ski School provides beginner ski instruction for children 2½ to 6 years of age.
Kinderhut is a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America, and offers progressive instruction
in balancing, stopping and turning. We strongly encourage, however do not force, all children to ski and
our goal is to provide a fun and challenging program so that every child has a positive first experience on skis.

Our ski school staff receives training in child
development, ski instruction, First Aid and CPR. In addition, as part of our childcare license, each staff
undergoes background screening.

While we encourage all children who are 2½ and
older to ski, we also have fun indoor alternatives for children that are tired,
cold or, for whatever reason, choose not to ski the entire lesson time.
For children who choose not to ski, Kinderhut provides a variety of supervised indoor activities
including arts and crafts, games, puzzles and more.

For children who are not ready for the chair lift, Kinderhut maintains a student/instructor ratio of 5 to
1. We utilize a short carpet conveyor to shuttle children to the
top of a gently-sloped run. Instructors use fun games and drills to work on balance and stopping
skills. The class is paced to meet the unique needs of our smaller
skiers with a snack break for cookies and hot chocolate. Once children have
mastered the skills of stopping and speed control they are able to
join our mountain skier program. Kinderhut provides 2 hours of lesson time both
morning and afternoon.
After trying the other ski school program for our children, I realized that my 3 year-old might not be ready
for a full day of skiing. They recommended Kinderhut where he was able to try skiing in a more relaxed environment.
By the end of the week he didn't want to leave. Our 5 year-old got all the skiing she could handle in your mountain
class and was able to eat lunch with her brother. Thanks and keep up the great work.

Kinderhut offers mountain lessons on the QuickSilver Chairlift to those children who have mastered the skills
of stopping and turning on skis. Children will work on more advanced ski maneuvers with an experienced ski
instructor in a safe and non-threatening environment. Kinderhut maintains a ratio of no more than 4 students
with each instructor.

Each child in our mountain program must wear a helmet and will be seated
next to an instructor while riding the lift. Small group size and individual attention guarantee a safe, positive
and educational experience. Children participating in the mountain program are required to be checked into the Kinderhut
facility no later than 9 am for the morning class and 12:45 pm for the afternoon class. After your child's first
day on the mountain we will discuss their progress and possible graduation to a more advanced ski school.
Space in this program is limited by the Breckenridge Ski Area. Priority is given to children who are using the
chairlift for the first time.
